EIGHT MP'S MAY FACE EXPULSION
"Eight MPs could face expulsion from parliament if a probe finds them guilty of misconduct. Seven members of the Democratic Bloc and another MP are to be investigated by parliament's legislative and legal affairs committee. They will be questioned over statements given to some of the Arabic press on the clearing of Finance and National Economy Minister Abdulla Saif of any wrongdoing.. ..It is alleged that in articles published by some of the local Arabic press, they described the actions of the service committee as harmful to the efforts of the investigation committee, which conducted the probe.." OMAN POPULATION SPACING CAMPAIGN BEARS FRUIT AS GROWTH RATE DECLINES
"Oman's birth spacing program has been successful and this was reflected in the census conducted last year.. ..The population count carried out last year showed an annual growth rate of about 1.9 percent among the Omani nationals, against the projected rate of three percent since the last census in 1993. 22 KILLED IN SAUDI ATTACK
"Twenty-two people were killed [May 29] when gunmen stormed a compound housing oil workers, the Saudi Interior Ministry said [May 30].
