US SCRAPS CURBS ON ALIEN VISITORS
"The US government said late [Dec 1] it was scrapping a controversial control on foreign visitors, mainly men from the Middle East, introduced after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, saying resources could be better used in the war on terrorism.  The Department of Homeland Security said with immediate effect, men from 25 nations, who will still be photographed and fingerprinted on arrival, will no longer have to re-register after 30 days and then one year after entering America.." "Saudi Arabia will withhold the $1 billion in loans and credits that it pledged last month for Iraq's reconstruction. "..Another U.S. Embassy warning was issued [Dec 2] to the 37,000 U.S. citizens living in Saudi Arabia, saying that compounds housing Westerners had come under surveillance by terrorists, indicating the possibility of another attack. The embassy mentioned Seder Village in Riyadh, the Saudi capital.
